Join SLAC & the HCC Central Library for a one of a kind sustainable fashion event in honor of Earth Day. Part clothing swap, part DIY clothing repair event, this event encourages the HCC community to reduce their clothing waste by mending and refreshing their existing wardrobe with hands on activities and a swap event just for HCC students. So clear out your closets and join us on April 30th in the WW Harmon Building rooms 100 & 101.  See Guidelines below on how to participate:

RENEW: Repair & Upcycling Stations in WWH room 100, 11am-3pm

  • Bring garments with missing buttons, rips/tears, broken zippers, needing to be hemmed to learn how to repair yourself. Limited supplies while it lasts.
  • Bring garments needing new life with minimal embellishments and alterations.
  • Come to get inspiration for future sustainable 
  • Learn about upcycling your old clothes (especially old Tshirts)
  • Get inspiration on future DIY projects

REWEAR: Clothing Swap in WWH room 101 11am-3pm, early clothing drop off available 8:30-11am

  • Bring clean & gently used clothes & accessories to WWH room 100 for Checkin
    • No undergarments. socks, hosiery, shoes, house items or children's clothing will be accepted. 
  • Bring your HCC Student ID or copy of your current HCC class schedule to participate. Clothing swap limited to HCC students at this time.
  • Bring a tote bag/reusable bag for the items you will be taking with you
  • Checkin at registration table, participants will be let in 25 people at a time to "shop"
