Gulf Coast Reads is an annual regional reading initiative with the goal of encouraging people across Southeast Texas to all read the same book during the month of October and come together in community for events and discussions.
The 2026 Gulf Coast Reads selection is The Librarians by Sherry Thomas.
A double murder disrupts the routine of four quirky librarians who hide among books to protect their secrets. Can they trust each other enough to confess their concerns and work together? Will they discover who committed these murders before it's too late?
Librarian Molly Bullard will be hosting a book discussion in Room 102.8 (HCC Katy Library) on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
