Exploring the Costs and Benefits of Cataloging Free Resources - Archived Webinar In-Person

One philosophy of the library catalog is to only include items for which you have paid. On the other hand, there is much free web content that has great value for researchers, including Government information. However, it would not be feasible, or useful, to take on the entire Internet. This webinar examines whether it is worth the time and financial investment to catalog freely-available online resources and will seek to answer the question of measuring the value of placing these resources in the catalog.  Presenters Christopher C. Brown, Reference Technology Integration Librarian / Government Documents Coordinator, University of Denver, Main Library and Erin Elzi, Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, University of Denver, Main Library.

This 1-hour webinar is presented via the Federal Depository Library Program.

Open to all library faculty and staff.   LTA Credit = 1-hr
